Immediately Forgive Bonus Repayment Orders Sent by the Pentagon To Veterans of the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan

Created by J.W. on October 22, 2016

On Oct. 22, the LA Times and other media reported that thousands of war veterans from the California National Guard have been issued repayment orders by the Pentagon. The orders pertain to reenlistment bonuses that enticed the Guard soldiers to re-up and go to war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Whether in direct combat or on-base functions, these men and women each sacrificed to serve a purpose that supported and continues to support every American citizen.

Unfortunately, some bonuses were handed out an error or in direct conflict with Pentagon orders. But the Guard soldiers who reenlisted didn't know that. They honored their end of the contract.

We demand these nearly 10,000 repayment orders be immediately rescinded, forgiven, and refunded when payments have already been accepted.
