The recent actions between the PMA and ILWU and the virtual stand still that is occurring at the West Coast Ports is putting the economic and job security of millions of American's at risk. While both the PMA and ILWU reserve the right to the collective bargaining process, the Obama Administration should not allow them to hold the entire American economy "hostage". The gridlock at the West Coast Ports has already resulted in loss of overtime, layoffs, and unnecessary air freight expenses by employers and these will only worsen, immediately, if the Obama Administration does not intervene. We should not allow the PMA and ILWU to send the US economy back into an unnecessary, and 100% avoidable, recession.
