The elected officials of our Federal government must be subject to the same laws and regulations they pass. Without such a law, it is almost impossible for them to be true "representatives" of the citizens of this nation. By having them subject (mandated) to follow the same laws they pass, without exceptions or waivers, they will not only become more deliberate about what they vote on and for, they will also have a "personal investment" (buy in) to their actions and the consquences of.
