Immediately place a moratorium on the use of capital punishment by the federal government.

Created by R.R. on January 18, 2014

With the execution of Dennis McGuire, the state of Ohio has shown that there is absolutely no humane way to administer the death penalty. Several members of the international community has stopped exporting drugs used in executions to the United States as a method of condemning our continued use of state-sponsored killing. Many of our allies have abolished the death penalty, and it is time for us to join them. This is why we are asking you to put a moratorium on all executions at the federal level, give the states until January 1, 2016 to do the same, and suspend all federal law enforcement funding to states that fail to meet that deadline.
