The USA PATRIOT Act of 2001, passed shortly after the tragic terror attacks of September 2001, is one of the most radical pieces of legislation to ever pass through Congress. While intended to help combat terrorism, both foreign and domestic, the PATRIOT Act has become one of the biggest threats to the civil liberties of United States citizens. As clearly demonstrated by recent events, this piece of legislation allows the United States government to invade the privacy of its own citizens, with no disclosure, no just cause, and no warrant. Therefore, we ask that the Obama administration immediately push for the amendment, or total repeal of this bill.
