1)To immediately quarantine, for 21 days all travelers arriving from or having traveled in Libera, Sierra Leone, or Guinea within the past month. 2)To immediately ban all travel FROM Liberia, Sierra Leone or Guinea except for returning legal residents and those performing tasks in Africa to address the Ebola epidemic. It is the height of stupidity for the CDC to believe that exposed individuals will be able or willing to isolate themselves immediately upon appearance of symptoms and seek treatment at a competent hospital before exposing others. And it is insulting to our intelligence for health authorities to continue to compare the contagiousness of Ebola to HIV. Ebola obviously spreads and kills much more quickly. We cannot afford even a minor risk of failing to contain Ebola here.
