Immediately Redirect The Salaries Of Members Of Congress To Pay Those of Furloughed Government Employees

I would like to present a petition to immediately redirect the salaries of Congress to cover the salaries of furloughed government workers, if the U.S. Government is shut down. Our government is supposed to work for the people, not make it so the people can't work. This bi-partisan bickering and stupidity will cause many Americans to become temporarily unemployed; people with families, children, rent and bills. It is unacceptable that 535 people (who refuse to work toward a compromise, are more concerned with making sound bites on the evening news than legislating, and have exorbitant salaries that remove them from the "reality" of the life of a working class person) can be so irresponsible as to disregard the most basic needs of their employees and the general public they serve.
