The recent anti-gay law enacted in Nigeria is a violation of basic human rights. While US/Nigeria trade relations have been longstanding & mutually profitable, the current law and state of human rights in Nigeria should put into question the future of US aid & assistance to that country. As a direct response to Nigeria's anti-gay law, we ask the US government to immediately stop all imports of oil/petroleum/petroleum products from Nigeria. We urge the State Department and President Obama to view the violation of each Nigerian's human rights as a violation to us all.
