1) Syria's rebels consist of several different groups, many of which are against the "West" and American ideals.
2) We do not have authority under International UN treaties as to not overthrow, or participate in overthrowing other nations.
3) Acts of warfare need to be specific authorized by the Congress to enable the President to act.
We need to fundamentally rethink our foreign policy in regards to helping or aiding foreign regime change. We are violating UN law and helping people who may actually not have the best interests of Americans as their priority.
Using UN forces or a joint EU-US-China force would be as least in the joint interests of those involved, but the unilateral action of this nation is putting the citizens of the country in greater risk than if we did not intervene.
