This petition calls on President Obama to stop the pay of any and all Congressmen who are a part of the government shutdown, until such time as they have fixed the problems instead of attempting to use extortion to get what they want with little or not thought to what the American people want.
The purpose of the United States government is to serve the people of this country, not to allow the country to default on bills as well as services owed at home and abroad. By forcing a government shutdown, Congress is doing nothing but damaging our country internally, as well as in how we are viewed worldwide. This MUST be stopped.
