Immigration waiting time for a Interview

Created by W.B. on April 16, 2015

Hello,
I worked 35 years for Hewlett Packard and I am retired since 2009. I loved to visit the US. Last year in October 2014 I married a US citizen and filed for a “Greencard”. Beginning January I got the information that all my paperwork is done and I have to wait for the invitation to an Interview. 2 weeks ago I went to the Immigration office and found out, that it last 9 to 10 month to get the invitation to the interview. Is there a lack of personal at DHS to do the interviews or is there another reason to wait the long time. Is that on purpose??
I cannot visit my children and sisters in Germany on their birthdays and keep other social contacts alive. My cousin lives 2 hours away in Vancouver, BC and I cannot visit him.
Thanks in advance
