In the United States, every citizen has a responsibility to pay Federal taxes. Those that are found guilty of dodging taxes face prison time and fines. The United States Government is not allowed to show special treatment to any individual or risk being seen by the public as a system that favors certain people but punishes the rest. No real democracy allows for this so to do as such calls into question the very validity of the IRS itself. If Donald Trump does not have any repercussions for dodging taxes, neither should anyone else. His money does not make him an exception to the law and his case should be treated as such. The presidency should not be used to shield him from prison should he be found guilty of dodging his tax responsibilities.
