North Carolina governor Pat McCrory signed House Bill 2 into law, thereby taking legal rights away from state employed LGBT workers. This isn't just a bill that makes it illegal for anyone to use a bathroom that doesn't correspond to the gender they were assigned at birth, but also takes away the legal rights of those in the LGBT community. They cannot seek legal action if they are discriminated against in the workplace. Governor McCrory was asked by the US Department of Justice to rework HB2 so that it fit under Title VII, a non-discriminatory act and McCrory responded by suing the federal government. This action could lose the state millions of dollars in federal funding-which could impact public education. I ask that we start a movement to impeach Governor McCrory.
