implement a 10-year plan to rebuild and modernize American infrastructure.

Created by D.S. on November 15, 2012

Our nation has, over the course of its history, built some of the best public infrastructure in the history of the world, from the Erie Canal to the Transcontinental Railroad to the Hoover Dam and more. However, we have not done what other countries have done and put in place a legitimate, realistic long-term capital investment plan designed to quickly and directly make jobs in the short-term while enhancing our long-term competitiveness. We propose a recommended investment of about $500 billion per year for 10 years, namely building a Next-Gen ATC System for our airports, repairing our roads and bridges, retrofitting our housing stock and schools to be safer and more energy-efficient, building a true HSR system (i.e. the Northeast Corridor), and more.
