implement an annual hour of silence for meditation, prayer, and reflection, in respect of those who die senselessly.

Created by P.A. on December 15, 2012

In the last 8 months of 2012, there has been 8 publicized mass shootings not involving our military or citizens on foriegn soil, nor gangs fighting for turf. Without respect of age, gender, religion, or other factors people have died.

I do not believe there is a way to control these acts going forward, nor to lesson them by law. I petition in the hope that we as a nation, as people in a global community may regain conscientious, god, or whatever a persons conviction to a state of calmness and harmony may be. This is not to promote a religion, but to acknowledge tragedy.

An Hour spent in silence in our military, in our media, our homes and our government. An organized act used to combat the chaos we have been subjecting ourselves to. A Holiday condensed into an hour.
