implement a ban on high fructose corn syrup

Created by C.M. on June 10, 2014

Over 40 years, High Fructose Corn Syrup has become universal and is found in virtually all processed foods. According to data made available by the USDA and CDC, the rate of obesity and childhood obesity has doubled since the introduction of HFCS in the 1970's. The result of consumption of HFCS has been documented by the Federal Government and includes increased obesity and obesity related illnesses including diabetes and a general increased mortality rate. The claim made by HFCS producers that it's consumption is "fine in moderation" is especially damaging, as virtually all non organic foods contain HFCS, including those marketed towards children.
With this in mind, we the people advise and ask that the Obama administration work to effect a ban on the use of High Fructose Corn Syrup.
