Implement a Basic Income Guarantee of $12,000 per year for all citizens to end poverty and strengthen the American Dream

Created by E.G. on January 13, 2013

Every citizen on an individual basis would receive a minimum of $12,000 per year that will pay for the basics(food, water, shelter, etc.).

A basic income guarantee is a proposed system of social security that regularly provides each citizen with a sum of money unconditionally. Again, except for citizenship, a basic income is entirely unconditional; the richest as well as the poorest citizens would receive it.

Studies from around the world have found that a basic income:
-helped end hunger and malnutrition
-reduced crime
-increased higher education/school attendance

If money were not an issue, more people would pursue their dreams and passions.

Past winners of the Nobel Prize in Economics have fully supported a basic income.
