In the United States of America, we pride ourselves on allowing anyone an opportunity to succeed. However, there is no doubt that one will step on a few fingers and toes on the way to the top. It is the civic duty of those who are financially successful to give back to the society that gave them success.
While this top bracket of earners complain that they contribute more in terms of dollars, percentage of income is what determines fair share. If it were dollar amount, no American would pay taxes to be fair to the unemployed.
It is for these reasons that I petition President Obama to implement and enforce a mandatory effective tax rate of at least thirty (30) per cent on any household in which the gross annual income exceeds $1,000,000; regardless of deductions applied.
