We demand that the government enact comprehensive firearms legislation that includes the following:
-Prohibit the sale, purchase or ownership of assault weapons that include all firearms developed specifically for military and law enforcement purposes. as well as high capacity magazines and highly lethal ammunition.
-Require all buyers of firearms to be licensed through the following process:
-Pass a background check, conducted during a mandatory waiting period.
-Complete gun use & safety classes, including storage.
-Pass both a written and firearm handling class.
-Background check & test repeated every 5 years for license renewal.
-Existing owners must get a license within 3 years.
-Make gun owners criminally liable for use of their weapon(s) in a crime, even if stolen.
