The President of the United States receives a $400,000 salary excluding numerous benefits, rank-and-file members of the legislation receive $174,000 yearly at minimum, and the average salary including benefits for any federal employee is $123,049.
We propose that the government implement legislation prohibiting any federal compensation package from exceeding the annual median household income.
This will encourage the federal government to actually focus on increasing the median income and standard of living, which have been stagnant for 50 years, as it will allow for an increase in their own compensation. For an administration so vehemently degrading our country's income disparity, this is only logical.
