I propose a simple idea: We, as a nation, should pay every American citizen a guaranteed income regardless of gender, race, background, income level, geographic location or birth nationality to guarantee a minimum standard of life. This would be funded by money saved when other programs, and their accompanying agencies are eliminated
The benefits to our country would include (but are not limited to):
-Reduction of government bureaucracy through a single entitlement program
-Minimal market interference
-Can be referred to as a real benefit of American citizenship, rather than an entitlement to only the poor
-Would drive economic growth
-Potentially could reduce crime while improving law enforcement (Ex:Tracking use of Income checks/issued debit card)
