Every year tons of food is discarded by grocery stores for inability to sell to the general public. On average we discard over 30% of the food we produce in a nation where many still go hungry. Congress should pass a law to promote the idea of there grocers and even restaurants to donate the unwanted food to homeless shelters, charities, and the needy alike.
