The United States Congress should be held to standards above and beyond the standards any citizen would face when applying for private employment. Congress has consistently been populated with members who have no personal understanding or respect for the letter of the law, yet they are the ones most instrumental in crafting and creating the laws for this great nation.
We request the President to offer a Constitutional amendment stipulating legal requirements that must be fulfilled in order to remain in any elected Congressional role, or in order to replace a former member of Congress when winning an election or being appointed to temporarily fill a vacant Congressional seat.
Conviction for any felony will prevent admission to Congress and should be applied retroactively to all members.
