Implement a Military Contingency Logistics Support based Disaster Action Plan for Hurricane Sandy

Created by A.H. on November 13, 2012

The most efficient way to address the logistical requirements (billeting, food, water, medical supplies etc) of the Survivors of Hurricane Sandy is to combine Emergency Management with Contingency Logistics Operations and Reserve Component Logistics Support (engineers, cooks, fuelers etc).

I successfully combined Emergency Management with Logistics Management as an element Commander following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in coordination with FEMA, TXEMA,Red Cross and ACOE. I briefed my teams SOP to the State G4.

As the Theater Operations Officer for a Logistics Civil Augmentation Program in Afghanistan, I identified efficient and cost effective ways to improve Contingency Logistics Operations, Services and Support based on my Emergency Mangement experiences.
