The petition asks that that President Obama should signal to the wider world that Americans are not all gun toting anarchists but that the real majority believe that guns should be restricted to properly controlled bodies as clearly indicated by the second Amendment. He should also send a clear message to the world that most Americans do not believe that the answer to illegal shootings is to provide more people with guns. We recognise that the wider world considers the current US gun laws to be sheer madness and will continue to result in the tragic deaths of US and foreign citizens.
