Implement a national deposit on bottled drinks

Created by B.B. on November 12, 2012

Many states have successfully implemented a bottle deposit for drink containers in order to reduce litter and increase container recycling, now it is time to implement it at a national level for all states.

Require cans, bottles, and other containers of beer, carbonated soft drinks, and non-carbonated beverages sold in the United States to be returnable with a minimum refund value.

This will encourage Americans to reduce littering and increase container recycling. States with bottle bills have reduced from 30 to 64% of the roadside litter and recycle about 37% more bottles than states without a bottle bill.
