implement a national do-not-fax registry similar to the national do-not-call registry.

Create a national do-not-fax registry in which consumers can enter a fax number into the registry to prevent junk faxes being sent. Large companies, small businesses as well as the "average joe" are forced to receive these unwanted faxes at their expense. Paper and ink for these faxes can add up to thousands of dollars a year for a large company. Many people have a home fax machine as well and are forced to buy ink and paper for their personal fax machines because these junk faxes are being sent by a solicitor. The FCC guidelines currently require the consumer receive the fax before we can opt out. We would like to see a registry set up where a consumer can register the fax number and prevent these junk faxes from being sent to begin with.
