Our nation is facing a major crisis on the horizon that cannot be ignored. By 2025 half of the world population will be facing a water shortage and we need to take steps to prevent it from reaching the United States. We need to make our water supply systems such as irrigation up to modern standards and bring our water reclamation plants up to date. We also need to end fracking in the United States because it is cutting into our already small supply of drinkable water. Water is a valuable, natural resource. We need to deal with this before this nation suffers massive amounts of water shortages.
Please read the GAO publication "FRESHWATER SUPPLY States’ Views of How Federal Agencies Could Help Them Meet the Challenges of Expected Shortages" for a more detailed analysis to this issue.
