Implement real net neutrality policy, classify the Internet as a utility, and stop kowtowing to the media conglomerates.

Created by S.B. on April 23, 2014

The FCC has circulated a draft policy to cede control over the "last-mile" of the Internet, or the connection between the ISP and consumer", in what can only be a display of cowardice and capitulation to media lobbyists.

President Obama promised true net neutrality in his 2007 campaign and has continually reaffirmed it, and yet time and time again his FCC has refused to stand up to media interests and declare the Internet a utility and regulate it as such.

Your local power company can't charge Dyson if you use one of their vacuums instead of a Hoover, so why can Comcast charge Netflix for its use?

The Internet is fundamental to commerce, communications, and innovation; yet the FCC is willing to do what is politically expedient instead of what is right.

Keep the Internet open.
