The program would train and arm a small percentage of school faculty to ensure the safety of the students. Faculty would be compensated monetarily for the extra responsibility, while having to maintain anonymity. The program would be similar to the air marshal program. Chosen faculty would be required to take gun safety classes, marksmanship qualifications, pass background checks, and submit to periodic psychiatric evaluations.
The aim of the program is to deter school shootings and minimize casualties in the event of a school shooting.
