A death by suicide occurs about every 13.7 minutes in the US. If we teach children in schools about suicide and depression, we can drastically lower that number because they will understand that it's okay to talk about. More kids and teens will seek help for themselves, and we can finally begin to erase the stigma about it. By implementing these programs in middle schools and up, we can educate students about something that many people don't even understand is a problem.
