Implement Term Limits for Congress

Created by C.F. on January 29, 2014

Congress enacted term limits for the presidency through the Twenty Second Amendment just 6 years after FDR was last President, yet they placed no such limits on themselves.

When our nation was founded, serving in Congress or as the President was meant to be a public service in which citizens served their community on a federal level, then returned back home to continue their own career path.

Congress should not be exempt from term limits. We propose that Congress take responsibility and turn the institution back over to the people by enacting term limits for Congress. This will not only help bring fresh new voices to our government, but will help cut down corruption that can and does happen in democratic governments. Such a measure is in the best interest of our nation and our people.
