In light of the number of mass shootings in our country in just the past few years and the apparent inability of our government to pass any kind of meaningful gun reform We The People do hereby submit the following measures to be signed into law as soon as possible:
1. Civilians cannot possess handguns, automatic assault weapons, semi-automatic assault weapons, military rifles, or machine guns.
2.An aspiring gun owner must first take an all-day class and pass both written and practical exams. Then, applicants will be required to go to the hospital for a mental health test, and provide police with a medical certificate attesting their mental health and drug-free status.
