In today's society I have noticed a large number of animal cruelty cases emerging. I have read a lot of stories and have seen a lot of heart breaking pictures. These pictures and stories include everything from cats, dogs, horses and many of them are connected to domestic abuse as well.
People that commit animal cruelty do this because they know the laws out there are not that severe. Stronger laws are needed to help these animals. Right now the strongest sentence is up to 2 years in prison and up to a $1000.00 fine. This is unacceptable. The punishment needs be raised and enforced on all cases. We need to show that animal cruelty will not be tolerated anymore. Animals need our help. We are their voice.
