Implement a Travel Ban to Slow the Spread of Zika Virus

Created by J.S. on February 06, 2016

Zika virus continues to spread rapidly throughout South and Central America. This dangerous virus can cause horrifying birth defects in babies if their mother becomes infected while pregnant.

Numerous cases of the virus have already been appearing in the United States as a result of travelers being infected while visiting the affected regions. Since mosquitoes are the primary vector for Zika virus, the U.S. is in danger of experiencing a rapid spread of the virus as the U.S. quickly approaches the summer mosquito season.

We the people demand that the U.S. government ban all travel to and from South and Central America until the world community can get the Zika virus under control.

If this action can save just one child’s life, we must do it.
