The United States of America is one of the few First World Countries without Universal Healthcare available to all of its citizens. It's time we catch up to the rest of the world and implement such a system. The Affordable Care Act is nothing more than a placebo attempting to treat what has been ailing this nation for generations.
Health is a basic human right and currently Americans pay far too much pre and post tax for the public/private system that is now in place. Medicaid and Medicare programs are bloated and ineffective. Private insurers keep raising premiums and hospitals continue to financially gauge patients. It's time to consolidate and streamline what passes for healthcare in this nation and make it available to every man, woman and child that calls him or herself an American.
