implore Congress to pass federal legislation banning workplace discrimination of LBGTQ+ individuals.

Created by C.W. on June 28, 2015

While the recent SCOTUS decision expanded marriage rights to thousands, in 29 states homosexuals can be fired merely for being who they are, and transgender individuals can be fired in 32 states, where they are at higher risk of falling into homelessness [1].

President Obama made a great stride by protecting Federal Contractors in an Executive order [2], and we ask him to encourage congress to extend this idea into federal law, protecting individuals in all states from this discrimination.

If congress fails to take action, we implore Obama to look into issuing another Executive Order, this time directed at protecting individuals in both the public and private sector across the United States.
