By Memorial Day gas prices are expected to reach upwards of $5.00/gallon for regular unleaded. Most issues leading to the rise in gas prices are directly related to the happenings in the Middle East.
We petition the Administration to consider opening up wider trade with our Latin American neighbors. Mexico is a major producer of oil and our long-standing friend. Mexico's oil fields currently produce about 12-13,000 barrels of oil a day, and could produce somewhere around 220 MILLION barrels.
Becoming reliant on threatening and totolitarian states in the MidEast for oil is no longer needed. Opening up more trade with our American neighbors who also believe in the shared ideals of Democracy, freedom, and justice will give us the opportunity to morally and successfully curb the oil crisis.
