We request the creation and implementation of a comprehensive Whaling Tariff for 2014 and every year thereafter imposing a 35 percent tariff on all products imported into the United States from countries allowing the harvest of whales for commercial and / or scientific purposes. Traditional subsistence-level catches by indigenous peoples would remain exempt under this plan.
