There is a substantial body of evidence showing that violent video games are linked to violence committed by teen and young adults.
With regards to the 2nd Amendment, the US government has already established that reasonable restrictions can be placed on a right enumerated in the Bill of Rights by banning certain products outright, limiting characteristics of products, or requiring consumers to pay for a federal tax stamp to own certain products.
This petition requests that the Obama administration apply similar legal logic to the 1st Amendment and impose a $50 tax stamp on the sales of video games with an "M" or "A" rating. The resulting funds should be set aside to expand community mental health care and resources for at-risk children and young adults.
