We urge immediate imposition of a 6-month moratorium on the sale and/or importation of all assault-type weapons and high-capacity magazines in order to allow Congress reasonable time to enact updated firearms regulations in the wake of the massacres in Newtown, Ct., Aurora, CO, Tucson, AZ, and so many others. The objective is to keep more of these deadly weapons out of the marketplace until they can be effectively banned by Congressional action.
