A Republican-dominated Congress approved the 22nd Amendment in 1947 after Roosevelt's 4th term as President, it was ratified in 1951. "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice".
The 47th Governor of New York, Thomas Dewey, at the end of Roosevelt's 4th term said: "Four terms, or sixteen years, is the most dangerous threat to our freedom ever proposed."
It is not acceptable for representatives like Rep. John Dingell to run a Congressional term for 60 years. It is an absolute danger to our freedom and rights as Americans and the responsibility of Congress to the American people to uphold the same standards for themselves of which they previously established.
