Impose Congressional Term Limits

Created by M.H. on June 30, 2015

This petition has been started to begin the conversation in regards to congressional term limits (CTLs).
As George Mason wrote many years ago, "...nothing is so essential to the preservation of a Republican government as a periodic rotation."
Mason had the expertise and foresight (and probably experience) to realize that lifelong politicians are susceptible to bribery, unfaltering party loyalty, and special-interest groups.
The Supreme Court has ruled that individual states cannot impose CTLs.
It seems that anything this drastic would require Congressional approval and we can't expect them to vote themselves out of a job.
The issue of CTL's needs another vetting through the Supreme Court/POUTS. New eyes.
Although we should be weary of Executive Orders, this undoubtedly warrants an EO.
