We, the signers of this petition, respectfully ask the President of the United States to recognize the current state of emergency in this country due to the ineffective gun control laws that are in effect. When our babies are no longer safe in their schools because firearm possession cannot be adequately controlled, and when we all must live in fear of a recurrence of such a horrific event, we ask the the President to exercise his emergency powers to protect the citizens of this country from this crisis. We ask that a moratorium on all sales of firearms and ammunition of any type be enacted immediately until such a time as adequate laws respecting the sale and possession of firearms and ammunition can be implemented.
