Impose a no-fly zone in Syria

Created by K.B. on November 12, 2012

In early 2011, the people of Syria rose up to protest an oppressive dictatorship that has been in power for over forty years. The United State's policies, along with those of other world powers, have been of inaction and have led to no success. We have been sitting on the sidelines as the Syrian government slaughters its own people. The result of such policies is the death of over 40,000 Syrians since the start of the uprising. Many of these casualties were caused by aerial fire. Helicopters and military aircraft are the biggest threat to the Syrian opposition. For this reason, a full-scale invasion is not necessary. A no-fly zone would suffice. If we allow more Syrians to be killed, the future government will be less than friendly. However, if we support them we will gain a powerful ally.
