We the People of the United States, in order to "secure the Blessings of Liberty, to ourselves and to our Posterity", petition the Obama Administration to take action against the Russian Federation's 'Gay Propaganda' ban, a vaguely defined bill which has fueled the assault, abduction, torture, discrimination, and public humiliation of innocent lesbian, gay, bisexual, & transgendered individuals living in Russia.
Since President Vladimir Putin signed the ban into law in June 2013, it has incited incredible acts of violence and extreme public brutality against LGBT persons in Russia, who have no protection from Russian police.
We urge the President to take political & economic actions against the Russian Federation, and make a more concerted effort to halt violence against LGBT Russians.
