Impose a pollution tax on all imported goods whether the company is foreign or domestic.

Created by J.R. on November 10, 2013

We have been trying for years to get the nations of the world to agree on global pollution standards with no success. In order to save the planet, I feel we should set the example

Impose a temporary (5-10 Yrs.) pollution tax/surcharge on all items imported by any company foreign or domestic based on the difference between U. S. standards and the manufacturing countries standards.

Half of this money should be set aside in escrow to be returned when a companies standards meet or exceed ours as a way to help cover the cost of upgrading.

If they choose not to meet our standards by the set date, they would be banned from the U. S. market.

This would penalizes job outsourcing to avoid regulation and lets foreign nations/companies know we have minimum standards they must meet do business here
