Impose a sanction on Verizon for violating their agreements with states to install high speed internet.

Created by K.H. on January 18, 2014

Verizon has accepted multiple tax breaks and subsidies to install statewide fiberoptic and high speed internet lines throughout the states. This has happened in Pennsylvania, Texas, and New York, among others. These lines were never installed, nor are there plans to do so in the future.

This is unacceptable and the federal government needs to step in since the state and local governments can't.

Verizon should be required to pay the back taxes, refund the subsidies, or install the lines at no future cost to states and tax payers. Too many people do not have access to reliable high speed internet, yet have contributed tax dollars to make this happen.
