The government of Uganda is set to enact laws that would impose the death penalty for homosexuality. The United States should work to protect the human rights and dignity of all people, in particular those who are most vulnerable.
Accordingly, financial aid to Uganda should be suspended should the law be passed and withheld until such time as the law is rescinded.
All gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered citizens of Uganda should be offered asylum in countries where their human rights will be protected.
