Impose stricter Regulations on the use of ones Criminal past for the purposes of obtaining employment and housing,

Position: I have read and heard many people who are trying to find employment and even housing and being denied because of a criminal past. Just because someone has a "criminal past" does not mean that he or she is a bad person. Simply means that they made mistakes. Everybody makes mistakes, because everyone is human. That being said, should people with a record be looked down on by society and not helped? The legal system kind of makes the criminals stay criminals in a way. Example: someone gets caught stealing from a job, then gets arrested and goes to jail and comes out trying to look for a job; gets denied because of it. Tries to find housing and gets denied. Is that person to resort to a life of crime to survive? Why is there no help for that person to find a job? Give them a chance!
